Variations = 2-dimensional or flat screen imagery.
Variations test the generative rules that organize my work. Each drawing or painting begins with a core form that produces a surrounding system through repeated transformation. Faces, radiant orbs, and modular structures emerge from this process as variations within the same underlying grammar.
Through sequential variation, the drawings examine how symbolic structures organize recognition. Each image operates as a small procedural system whose internal logic explores structural relationships that can reappear at different scales within the sculptures and installations.
These drawings are not studies or illustrations. Instead, they function as procedural systems that test how recognition stabilizes around symbolic forms. The viewer encounters a familiar signal, such as a face, a sun, or a void, but that recognition remains suspended within a structure that shifts through variation.
Through this iterative process, the drawings become micro-models for the larger work. They explore how repeated forms begin to organize perception and stabilize meaning, translating structural questions about recognition and authority into material form.
